We Got Our Verbal Ruling!

We spent fourteen hours on our trip to Kampala yesterday, but the good news is that we received a positive verbal ruling. Thank you, Jesus! Essentially, Asher is now our little boy. We have legal custody. However, we are still waiting on a written ruling before we can proceed further, and that can take several days to a few weeks--no one knows for sure. After we receive the written ruling, we must then wait on a letter from the Consular (I think that is his title?), Asher's passport, and lastly, Asher's visa. All of this can take two weeks to a month. While I am thankful for the positive ruling, I grow weary at the thought of staying several more weeks by myself. Lord, allow me to live in Your strength today...fill me with Your unconditional love...I cannot do it on my own.

  1. Oh, Dana that's wonderful news! Praise God for this development, and we will definitely keep praying for expeditious processing! May God meet all your needs, give you strength, peace, comfort, stamina, and love beyond measure. Asher is absolutely precious and adorable! Your journey blesses so many people every day. May you be encouraged and equipped through prayer and God's word.

  2. Remember from having toddlers....the days are long, but the years are short. Raise your head and try to enjoy every day you have to get to know that sweet boy even better. Someday when all your children are grown and gone you will remember these sweet days with Asher and your eyes will fill with tears for the days gone by. Not that I would really know how that feels....hmmmmm. Its really true. God is faithful and will get you through! Love you, Sister.

  4. I love these comments, they are wise words from wise people. God is in control, His timing is perfect. You know life will be more than hectic when you return to Nashville! Try to enjoy the slow pace while you can, there must be a reason for this time there. Your kids and Danny look like they are doing fine although I know they miss you. Love you and are praying for you.
