It's All Yours

I walk the dirt roads of Uganda
I see the scars that war has left behind
Hope, like the sun, is fading
And they're waiting for a cure no one can find
And I hear children's voices singing
Of a God who heals and rescues and restores
And I am reminded that every child in Africa is yours
And It's all Yours, God, Yours, God
Everything is Yours...
You're the Maker and Keeper and Father and Ruler of everything
It's all Yours...

I love these lyrics by Stephen Curtis Chapman! Every time I look at the picture below, I think of this song about the dirt roads of Uganda, and I thank God that each one of these beautiful children belongs to Him. I pray for healing and restoration for these orphans who, even though they may not have an earthly father, still have a Heavenly Father Who loves them beyond measure.

(God is restoring! All four of these boys have forever families now! Asher is on the far left and Judah is second from the right!)

  4. OK, girl get ready for some comments ... I just posted Asher and your site on my blog ... Did you know I picked "Its All Yours" as the song to do Joseph and Abigail's coming home video to ?? Great minds think alike ... Emily and Maggie's videos are both SCC songs and when I heard YOURS last summer I just knew it was the song for my children in Africa ...

  5. I DID THAT PHOTO SHOOT WITH THOSE 4 BOYS!!!! (Who can resist overalls and trikes?) I also did the Bible study with the Joseph and the Dreamcoats...did Renee send you these pics?!
I had no idea these little guys families' have found them! I spent 10 months at Amani and am a good friend of Katie's (The Journey) and Renee's (Hands and Feet). Congratulations on your referral of Samuel Asher! Praise God! Obviously, I don't think I can possibly have more enthusiasm for discovering this amazing news.
He is such a sweetheart! So brave and helpful- when he is going to cry he tries so hard to be brave before melting into your arms. Very athletic and loves to run- loved playing in the cars on the Amani lawn. Loved doing crafts in preschool. Great listener- and eager to please. Has a low little voice and I can just hear him saying, "Auntie Rachel- you like-ah my new choos?" when he was given new shoes. Again, SUCH a sweet boy.
I will most definitely be following your journey to him. Those Amani kids are my heart- you and Samuel will bless each other endlessly.
    Love,
    Rachel
P.S. Since coming home from 2 years working in orphanages, I now work for a very large adoption agency doing Ethiopian adoptions :)- it's my passion!

  6. Rachel, your words are such a blessing to us! Thank you for these stories of our son...these are memories that we will be able to share with him his whole life! What a gift! We covet your prayers as we wait and, ultimately, transition him home. We also thank you for loving him well before we found him. May God bless you as you have blessed others!
